As a little boy, I never knew what it meant to have your life in the palm of your hands. I never knew that the life in my hands was mine and had choices to make regarding the direction in which it would travel. I also never knew that if I put it in the right environment, molded it properly, sculpted it with tools of greatness, and nurtured it, I would have been so much better off than doing what I did for 28 years and just throwing it away. Besides the drugs and alcohol abuse I endured for many years, I also took my life and fed it negativity, hate, resentments, bitterness, fears, and doubts. I was a lost young man that never knew that I was the pilot of my own life and that the choices and decisions I was making was the fuel behind them…I literally cupped my hands together and threw away the greater part of my life with no regard for it at all, and certainly did not respect it at all…Not any more!!!
I have finally found, deep inside the canyons of my soul, the inner strength to cup those hands together and come to that realization that yes, I am in control. My life is mine and I will put it in the right environment so it will grow into something wonderful, something beautiful, and something certainly worth living. I have found myself and will never throw myself away again because today I know, with humility, I am worth it!!!
What do you see now when you cup those hands? Do you see your life? Is it still in your hands or did you throw it away? If you did throw it away, do you know you can easily get it back with little effort?? Make your life your own and realize that you are your own pilot. Choose decisions that will put you and your life in a great environment and never compromise the good for something you know is bad. Life is yours and is now, hopefully, back in your hands. Love it, live it, and never lose sight that you control it….
