To Whom It May Concern:
It is my pleasure to write the letter for Rich Barnes who came to speak to our students at West Bridgewater Middle/Senior High School on two separate occasions during the Fall of 2014. Rich came in September to speak to the students in grades 10-12 and in October to speak to our students in grades 7-9. Each audience was approximately 300+ students and he kept them engaged and interested for over an hour each time he spoke.
Rich did a great job telling the students about his story of addiction to drugs and alcohol and how these struggles changed his life. His words were moving, sincere, honest and meaningful and you could tell he spoke from the heart. Although he spoke to two different age groups of students I thought he did a nice job tailoring his talk to each group.
I talked to many students after he came and they all had very positive feedback. I know he made a real impact on the students. One young lady said, “He was great because he is not a famous person, just a regular guy who told the story of his life and struggles, I felt I could connect with him.”
I would strongly recommend Rich Barnes to speak to students. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.
Sincerely,
Mark Bodwell
Principal
